Hi Franko,

I'm looking at doing exactly the same - only I see AmigaKit no longer have PCMCIA network cards in stock (and for once - none found on ebay!).   I also need confirmation that my Apollo 1230 with >4Mb RAM won't conflict with my PCMCIA interface.

Hopefully more of us will be online with our Miggies soon :)

I think someone mistook me for a man in another thread so I chose an avatar I hoped would make it more obvious that I'm not.

LOL! You're talking about the avatar with the boing hat? :)

I've been scouring the net trying to find anything about your Apollo 1230 and conflicts with PCMCIA port, can't find anything yet that confirms this, but if I do find something about it I'll let you know. :)

It's been most enjoyable helping you out MrMoonlight. It's been really refreshing to find someone who is totally new to the Amiga and who has so much enthusiasm about the wonders of the Amiga. :)

I reckon by your enthusiasm and willingness you have shown for learning about the Amiga, you can look forward to many years of pleasure this machine will bring you. :)

I have to say your a very pleasant and patient man, as 16+ hours talking on the phone with me & my broad scottish accent can't have been easy. I reckon we could have solved your problems in half the time if subtitles were available via the phone... :roflmao:

Good luck with your new Amiga and don't give up when you get stuck, myself and plenty of others here on Amiga.org will be only to glad to help you out. :)
And you my friend have been a joy to work with, even love the scotish accent, lol and look forward to learning more from you ,you are indeed a great teacher ,and we will speak very soon ,take care my friend Brian:lol::lol::lol::lol:

That's excellent news. I hope to do the same with my A1200, but I currently have motherboard issues and a faulty accelerator to deal with. I *will* get on the net with the A1200 though - it just may take a while ;)

HI my friend ,and yes it is excellent news ,and i am so excited and she surfs really well ,but my thanks have to go out to Franko who knew little about getting on the net ,but taught me so much on how to use the Amiga ,and helped me to install that many things i have lost count ,
how he put up with me god only knows, but he did ,and on we go ,i hope your dream of getting on the net with your 1200 Amiga comes true,
best wishes Brian:lol::lol::lol::lol:

As we're talking about being online with an Amiga...

I use Genesis as my TCP/IP stack and it has an option to sych the system clock online.  I've tried several time servers with no luck.  Does anyone here use this feature and if so, what server do you use?

Cheers.

Hey Brian, I'm glad you got your Amiga online. I am sorry that I didn't have time to reply to your private message before you ended up solving the problem with Franko's help, I am often overwhelmed with private messages on the Amiga forums and it can take me a while to reply to everyone sometimes. I hope you continue to learn the ins and outs of the Amiga Operating System and enjoy trying out all the brilliant online software we have. Don't forget to check out AmiTwitter, AmiMSN, AmiNetRadio, AmiGift, AmiTradeCentre, and Dynamite!

Thank you very much, Franko, for doing such a great job of helping out! It is indeed refreshing to see people without much previous Amiga experience taking a new interest in them, and we all have to do what we can to make them feel welcome and want to keep using their Amigas.

Hi Cammy no need to say sorry to me  my friend i have not forgot how you helped me with my 3.1 workbench when i was compleatly lost, i was so lucky to drop on this  forum ,because before this one i was on another :lol:Amiga forum and as good as it was i could not understand a word i was being told,so had to say goodbye because it was all beyond me
and then this forum ,yourself and many more took the time to exsplane ,and then came Franko lol wow did he put some hours in with me ,untill i began to understand some of what he had taught me,he never once got annoyed when i got it wrong or deleated some thing we had worked on for hours , such a brilliant teacher ,infact he should teach Amiga to all who want to learn ,so very grateful to my Friend Franko ,
anyways my best wishes to you and i just have to go surf the net on my wonderful 1200 Amiga bye for now Brian,ps thanks for the tips of what to try out:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hi Brian, :)

Those screenshots you sent me have convinced me to try and get one of my Amiga's on the net. Just been looking at AmigaKits site and I can't find the adapter on it anywhere. :(

I'm sure you said that's where you got yours from, or did you buy yours from somewhere else... :)

Cheers

Franko
