SMB-Net trouble
« on: December 01, 2003, 12:50:57 AM »
I use SMB-Net to mount my network drives. Upon returning to my 1200 at college after a nice week at home, It was no longer working. Clicking the icon would not "start" the program, though Scout reports it's present in "wait dos" state. Messing around with tooltypes got me a usable AppIcon on the Workbench, but it hangs upon mounting a drive. I don't think I changed any settings, and the machine's been off all week.

Any clues? Thanks

Never mind. Turns out there was little hardware problem that was also responsible for other strange behaviors with the system. Solved by reseating some cards.

Is SMB-Net available on Aminet?  I couldn't see it.

I currently use SMBFS to mount remote network shared drives as AmigaDOS volumes, which works great.
Except when trying to mount shares from Samba running on another Amiga, I get major file corruption.

Looks like some kind of specific problem between AmigaSamba and SMBFS.  The AmigaSamba mailing list are stuck for answers.  Tried almost everything I can think of so far!

I'd appreciate if you could send me a copy of SMB-Net to try, or if you can let me know where to find it.

Thanks.
