Use IDE drives on SCSI-Bus adaptor!
« on: November 29, 2003, 10:38:04 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm now opting for 2 or 3 of these babies;Yeah, baby.

He says there's discounts on purchases of more than one, so maybe Amiga.org members can order some 100 units and get them for like 20UKP, now that's cheap! They cost around 50UKP from KDH.

There's a few threads concerning using this on amiga.org, and it works alright!
Cheers,
Povl
p.s. Message me if you want in on a big buy!

You can also get them here:

Acard online shop

Perhaps that ebay seller can get them cheaper like you said.

I have two 7720UWs and they work well, even 160GB drives work with the current firmware.. (you need a PC with Windows to upgrade the firmware)

Only problem is that they aren't that fast any more.. modern IDE is way faster than the old u2w SCSI in transfer speed.

Perhaps not the fastest ever, but bloody hell, have you used the A1200 mobo IDE recently?

Compared to the prices off that other page, that's 14 USD cheaper + you get free shipment! That's a good deal!
