Yea 2D wise you are right. I was thinking straight away to Warp3D, `cos what is the point of a Voodoo if you don`t use it for 3D.
Yes I know the VooDoo3 Warp3D driver works with 4 and 5 as well, but is is not officially supported, so there "could" be some compatibility issues.

As for the burning up problem: whenever this occoured I am pretty sure the user was running it without connecting the Powersupply directly to the G-Rex as is is clearly stated in the manual.
Even old PC-motherboards burned up since some wires weren`t up to the job of delivering the currency powerfull garphikchips demanded, that`s why the VooDoo5 even has its own 3.5" powerconnector
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

@Lemmink:

As I understand your post - the Grex manual states that you should NOT connect power to the power-connectors on the Grex, is that correct and do they mention why?

If so, it wouldnt definately not be strange if the BlizzardPPC or the A1200 motherboard would be fried when attaching anything more current-demanding than a network card to the Grex. The BlizzardPPC isnt specified to be able to supply more current than the BlizzardVision draws and the A1200 motherboard is probably not even speced to handle the currents drawn by the BlizzardPPC alone in the first place even... it should for example be a pure wonder that an A1200 motherboard with BlizzardPPC and a BlizzardVision attached doesnt burn on the spot... it shouldt atleast not go hand in hand with the term longevity anyhow.

Ive seen A1200 mobo's fried from just the BVision/BlizzPPC (esp 040 version) and a few mobo add ons that draw power from the motherboard when people have simply used either the floppy port or the original connector to power the system.

You need to feed your 1200 mobo from both in parallel IMHO. Its kept mine from frazzling OK.

As for something like the GRex etc, that should definately be powered independently of the 1200 motherboard!

@Lemmink:

I am still not sure wether you meant that the Grex manual stated that you should connect the powersupply directly to the Grex or not.

Anyhow I was curious so I checked the Grex 1200 PCI manual which on page 20 (step 8) states that it must be connected to the directly to the powersupply.

Did you mean that the users burned their Grex-cards by not connecting the powersupply directly to the Grex?

@ Odin

Yes that exactly how I meant it. Reading my own comment again, I see how this could easyly be misinterpreted.
Have a little mercy, for english is not my native language ;-) I`m from germany.
