:lol:

This topic was just covered again on the Voyager M/L!  No, Voyager is not dead, it's just in a development cycle.  I haven't heard when a new version will be available, but I know they are working on it ;-)
Regards,
Targhan

I use Voyager on my A4000 setup and it works great. It is far from
perfection, however very stable if you have a GFX card. When I try it
on my desktop A1200 with 060 without GFX card, severe crashes occur.
Same thing happened on A4000 when I tried to run it under AGA. All
from my personal experience, and I'm not sure if it's like that with
others.

When using AGA, do you use any kind of 'image data in fast ram' patch, such as FBlit?

The old 2Mb chip thing is not good for graphically intensive pages. Patches like FBlit really do help out AGA systems in more ways than just speeding them up..

Weird. I've been a registered user of Voyager for years. It is very unstable for me. It was unstable on my CV64/3D, it is unstable on my Voodoo. I only ever use it to test that my sites work in it, and I don't leave it running for long because I don't want a visit from Mr. Guru.

I find IBrowse and AWeb to be many, many times more stable than Voyager.

I cannot complain about voyager, in fact i found to be the most stable version of any amiga brwoser. It never crashed and usually i surf alot on the internet. I dunno, i think it depends on the configuration, but yet it was also unstable on AGA on my a1200 first, but after installing FBlit, it worked far more better.

voyager is dead on 68k, morphos versions is still in development.

reason: the team doesnt have an amiga anymore (yes its weird...i belived everyone beeing a fan of pegasos/mos claimed it to be Amiga...)

i wont encourage anyone to stop regging or whatever but i encourage everyone to email them and tell them you want a 68k update.

Voyager was never stable for me. It wasn't stable on AGA, it wasn't stable on CGX, it isn't stable on a Pegasos.

And if development continues at the slow pace it's going (STILL no cut and paste, never mind CSS!), then they might as well not waste their time. I don't think I'll live long enough for it to be as usable as IBrowse.

@Karlos:

I don't use any patches on my A1200D/060/128MB/3.9-BB-2/AGA setup other than BlizKick. Could be that a module in it is anti Voyager, however I doubt it as similar modules are used also in my A4000 heavy-weight setup with Voodoo 3 and I've yet to find a single crash. Actually, exactly the same modules are used other than the card-reset/timing software fixes that BlizKick provides for A1200 specifically. I've noticed that AGA usage of Voyager would usually crash when I try to download a file. I'd get a Guru error of some sort.

@x56h34

I was suggesting that you should try FBlit, not implying it might be the cause of your problems :-)

For completeness Voyager is rock stable on my Pegasos. On my A1200
with BVision it was nothing but a reboot tool.

What ever, nothing is better on Amiga than IBrowse :-)
