Oh, I have a strong contender.... and a sad story as well.

As many know, BBS's were big years ago, before the Internet took off.... Well, after getting a 14.4 modem for my miggy, I found at least 5 full-time Amiga supporting BBS's in Milwaukee alone. One of them was called PSA.... (Politics and Social Awareness, IIRC) it was run by then-Milwaukee County Supervisor Dorothy K. Dean.

In maybe 2006 or so, while chatting with her on the BBS, she said that the BBS (and the A2000 it ran on) had been on 24/7 for the last 8 years !! (Not sure if she had a UPS, I imagine so) I know her late husband set up an AREXX script, in WBStartup,  to automatically run the BBS program if power ever failed. Sadly, when her husband (and tech. support) passed away, PSA went offline for good... :(

Personally, I only had my A1200 on constantly for about 12 days.... for a Lightwave .ANIM .... Psst, anyone have a spare Raptor laying around... :)

I remember I used to work in the nineties and early 2000 on local TV station, they had an Amiga VideoToaster system with a serial link to an A3000 that was in a tower using Scala InfoChannel. This setup was used to broadcast the channel logo/bug during daily transmissions and was the responsible for emitting the now not so common "Sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties"  and the pattern test with the channel name before and after transmissions.

At that time I used to talk quite a lot with the operator of that system and he showed me he had some kind of Amiga app running in the background that displayed, last time we met, that the uptime of the machine was seven years and something, running 24/7/365

I was truly amazed by it, I never thought any computer could achieve something like that!

My A1200 had an uptime of around 3 months. Memory fragmentation eventually kills any long uptime.

I run a BBS. Or rather, I neglect a BBS. Its history is:
1995-2004 A1200. Running near continuously, only down for upgrades.
2004-2010 A4000. Continuously.
2010- WinUAE [1]. As an attempt to reduce power usage, noise and due to the gradual failure of the A4000. The image is a near identical 1:1 copy of the A4000, WinUAE's compatibility is pretty damn good.

[1] (WinUAE on WinXP on VMWare on Linux, accessed via Mac)

I have had an Amiga with a 12bps modem connected for 2 weeks, thats about the longest I have had an Amiga on without restart ever. The story is quite funny tho, I went on vacation with my familly for 2 weeks and forgot to turn my Amiga off, the funny thing is that I dident notice untill I got home, back then it was quite expensive to be connected and when I realized that I had been connected for the past 2 weeks I got panic and called my ISP and they saw I had no activity so they did not charge me for it :) Then I was happy :)

But when I used Amiga alot back then it was online for a minimum of 10-12 hours a day for many years :)
If I remember right I think renderings in Pow Raw on Amiga back then took ages!

Back in the day, I ran a public access BBS on my A2000 030/40. Started with a 2400 baud modem and then 14.4... followed by 56k. Other than the occasional power outage, the machine was on 24 x 7 for about 7 years. I used that same machine for my own use as well so it was rebooted once in a while, maybe once every 3 or 4 months but it was never shut off.

Local cable TV use an A1200 to show the program grade on a given channel using Scala. They update it every 24h and soft-reboot.

Was funny to see the Workbench loading near 6am and then the programming. The Amiga run from '96 to 2005, non-stop. And even without replacing the original 80Mb HD!
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

i think longest time was a few weeks spent pratting about with read3D i got off a coverdisk. got some pretty good models built and laid out. then the rendering...
A500 with 2Meg chip. about 1991/2
what else... maybe some weekends with vista, or mandlebrot progs generating anims.
on A500 / A1200
then i think the last heavy bout was converting interlace MJPEG's recorded on the digital broadcaster to progressve mpegs via arexx feeding imageFX then some jpeg/mpeg frame stacker. maybe a weekend+ to convert about two hours DVD quality video on an 060... that was about 2003...

none of my machines have actually been on at all for ages... might fire up the 1200/030 just for something amiga'ish on the network

not done any mega uptimes to compair to bbs's but might crack out 3D on the A500 for old times sake ;)
