"Classic Workbench" Un-Zipping in DOpus
« on: July 07, 2010, 06:31:37 PM »
I've installed the "Classic Workbench AGA" package on my A4000 (and it looks great) and downloaded KillaGorilla's WHDLoad archives.  I've been able to extract the 0-Z achives on Workbench to a directory called "A-Temp:" buy just clicking on them, but each archive contains LOTS of individual ZIP archives.

The same extractor program doesn't seem to do batch extractions, so to save my moust button a few hundred extra clicks, I opened up the installed DOpus program and tried using the ZIP and ARC EXT buttons to do them in bulk.

Unfortunately, I keep getting a pop up asking me to insert volume "VNC:".  Ignoring it or any attempts so far at guesswork (assining VNC: as SYS: or SYS:C) cause DOpus to completely lock up.

Does anybodt know where I sould be redirecting the VNC request, or if there is another installed program (or something on Aminet) that can do these ZIP files in bulk?

Thanks.

AnArchiver seems to do the job
 http://rhz1.site88.net/programs/anarchiver.htm

otherwise voodoo-x might do it too or combine unzip with a simple DOS script using list and lformat option !

Thanks for that.  I've just spent ages to the "A" games one-by-one.  This should speed things up a treat.

Installing now...

Strange.  When I tried to install the program it kept pesering me for "Pipe", so I checked my DOS Drivers to make sure that Pipe was in there (and it was, along with VNC).  I manually clicked on them and then the installer worked and so did ARC EXT in DOpus!  For some strange reason they're not mounting correctly when Workbench loads.

Anyway, archives are extracting as we speak.

Thanks again.
