Thanks. I saw that one too. But the more I think about it, I may be better off selling my A3000D with 040, CV64 and Fastlane along with my A2000D with 040 and Picasso II and buy a SAM to run OS4.1. Keep my A4000D for nostalgia.

I only really use the A3000D as a backup to the A4000D and I don't have time these days to play with the A2000D. I've also got a A1200 with Blizzard 030 that I don't use much either that I could off-load to someone who'd make use of it.

doubt it will sell for that much.. but only because you can get them cheaper if you have some patience. they are for sure worth a load of cash for someone that really wants one. I was in the same boat a year ago. for me all the other options mentioned in this thread were no option and I do not regret my purchase.
 
this guy is trying out some ebay tactics though: by advertising it for loads of cash he is keeping the price up. people believe they are worth it and are bidding higher for similar items. look at what happened with the C64GS.

Yes a SAM make more sense, but lots of 68k apps wont work on a NG platform (OS4). So if you want to be able to run a mix of 68k/PPC apps a classic PPC is best option.

No, they are not.
I was always told that the price is the amount of money which buyer is ready to pay...
If the buyer is willing to pay 1000EUR - this is the price.

Copying hardware is not a problem: if you will order about 1000pcs in China they will produce it for about 200EUR/pcs, no problem.
 
BUT:
The card will be useless as CPLD chips will not be programmed.
For your info: CPLD chip content is "locked" and cannot be simply read by some kind of reader (like EPROM or EEPROM); sorry.
These configuration files are stored in DCE basement forever.
DCE is very well aware that without these files none will copy the hardware.
 
So in short:
Without DCE support you will have 200kEUR worth bunch of completely useless (but yet nice looking) hardware.
 
Hyperion has nothing to do here.

No.
They cannot copy Cyberstorm PPC nor Blizzard PPC, sorry.
phase5 protected their design in very clever way.
 
I'm sure there are also other things which cannot be copied easy.

Well I have 4 A4000's, so if they would sell it around 250 euro's, I would order 4 of them.
 
On the note that the 060 is in a socket joined with a current IBM PPC also inserted in a socket and no more simms on it, modern DDR ram.

That would be a more acceptable price yeah, I would even go a bit higher, but not much.
I also can't believe that people are willing to pay these amounts for a card that is more than 10 years old and it has quite a design flaw cause of the BGA if these go loose due to heat it's bye bye PPC.
So I'm going to sit back and wait untill someone offers me one below my limit.

That card did just over 760 dollar / 600 euro, so I guess my maximum of 650 euro isn't so bad.
