Pang collection.
« on: July 05, 2010, 10:48:17 AM »
I just completed my collection of all Pang games for all platforms, including the ones that is not the original Pang games like Super Pang for SNES.

It took quite some time but it was worth it, I love Pang :)

If you havent played it you must try it!

Tho stay away from the strange x86 dos version, its just embarasing :)

I must say that the Amiga version is by far the best conversion of the original arcade version.

If anyone else loves Pang, feel free to write here :)

I love Pang! very much and I am still looking for an original version for my collection.

I remember playing it on the Amiga in the 90s and it is one of the few Amiga games that I still play from time to time.

I also spent a whole day playing Pang! while on vacation in Rimini while all my friends were sunbathing on the beach (I know I'm a nerd...). I simply had to finish it and it cost me a lot of liras.
The next day it was Toki that I had to finish. After that my sunburn was healed and I could go out in the sun once again...

Please submit a link to the info about the TAITO release, im quite sure they never released the TAITO version atleast not in Sweden, if there was not a bunndle of some sort? If it excist as a standalone release I will hunt it down!

The TAITO one looks like a clone using the the pang license name?

I even got the clones comercial and free:
Cellphones - Pang MIDP 1.0
MSX - KPI-Ball
TI-89-92 - Pang and Super Pang
etc.

And the sequels Pang, Mighty! Pang, Pang 3 and Super Pang etc...

Don't forget that Pang had diffrent names in diffrent regions like Buster Bros and Pomping World.

Here are a few pics just for comparision:
Amiga:

Amstrad CPC:

Arcade:

Atari ST

C64

Gameboy

I386 DOS

SNES

ZX Spectrum

Ive made a few Pang wallpapers just for fun some years ago, if anyone is intrested I can post them :)

EDIT: I also got soundtracks for most systems and the "VA - The Best of Pang! (2009 - Custom) (VBR V0)" Made by a good friend of mine. So just give me a shout if anyone wants anything ;)
Custom containing the music from Capcom, Mitchell, OCEAN, Pierre-Eric Loriaux, Takafumi Wada and Tony Williams :)

I used to have the original standup arcade machine. I wished that I hadn't sold it, it was such a fun 2 player game.  The 2 player game play was great.

Yes, no plain solid color for balls in the CPC version :)

Also did the gx4000 have 4 times higher CPU clock, and 16k VRAM, tho the C64 had higher resolution by default at Pang ^^

You left out the PC Engine CD/Turbo Grafx CD one, its called Buster Bros in USA and Pomping World in Japan.

its the best version, hands down.
