GVP T-REX-II 060 in a 3000D?
« on: June 25, 2010, 10:59:54 PM »
A quick question guys I know the above card will work with a 3000 but does anyone know if you can shoehorn it into the case without cutting the disk tray. Has anyone tried to do it?
thanks in advance.

Unless you can find some really, really short SIMM modules, you'll need to cut the drive tray.  The board will fit, but the memory modules stick up at a 90 degree angle to the board on my model.  Had to hack it, but I was clean enough about it that you couldn't notice it once the case cover is back on.

You'll probably want to upgrade the case anyways.

No CD-ROM slot is unacceptable these days IMO.
