I'm looking at a Commodore packet that has 5 disks for OS2.1:

Install
Workbench
Extras
Locale
Fonts

...as many as 3.x. Must obviously NOT be for the A3000  :(

Same no. as OS3.1 I think, why would you actually use OS2.x over 3.0/3.1 though?
Machines:
- A1200, Blizzard 1260 w/ 64MB RAM, 1.2GB HD, PCMCIA WiFi, AGA w/ RGB Adapter, OS3.9
- Pegasos I, G3 600Mhz, 512MB, Radeon 9200se, 80GB HD, AmigaKit WiFi Card, MOS 1.4.5
- Mac Mini, G4 1.5ghz, 512MB (1GB Soon), Radeon 9200 64MB, 80GB HD, OSX 10.5 (Leopard)
- PCs, Laptops... *yawn*... :D

I'm not, just trying give this away to a buddy here with an A2000. My stuff is for an A3000 though. Now I'm thinking this won't help him?

Can he use this with A2000 ?

IIRC the 2.04/2.05 and 2.1 will have different numbers of floppies, as Locale was only introduced with 2.1. I vaguely remember 2.05 being on 3 floppies - Workbench, Extras and Fonts. The A3000 probably has more due to the different Kickstart system used...

Workbench consists of these disks:

Workbench
Extras
Install -> since 2.0, only for HDD-based systems
Fonts -> since 2.0
Locale -> since 2.1
Storage -> since 3.0

Kickstart disk is not part of Workbench, it contains the ROM part of the operating system. It can only be used with Amiga models which have a special RAM instead of the real ROM (A1000 or A3000).

3.0/3.1 also have Storage (where all the datatypes/DOS drivers etc. were kept) for a total of 6 floppies...
