My first machine was a C64. I bought my first A1000 in October, 1985. I used Amigas exclusively until 1992 - 93 when professional requirements forced me to get a 486 PC in order to run 3D Studio.
During my Amiga run, I purchased at least a dozen machines and countless add-ons for the cable operation that I managed. Commodore's bankruptcy in 1994 was really heart-breaking.
I packed away my A2000 in 1996. I kept it in storage for about ten years until I discovered it had been ruined by neglect.
I've currently got two working A1000s, an A4000 and an A4000T in my closet, awaiting the opportunity for me to put them on display somewhere. Biggest challenge there is finding room for the massive monitors.
Nowadays I spend most of my time between two Core i7, Windows 7 towers, but my casual computing needs are being increasingly met by my iPhone 3GS and iPad.
I've always dreamed of a new Amiga that would take its rightful place among my most powerful machines, but try as I might, I can't envision the application space that this new Amiga would occupy.
Just imagine what might have become of our beloved machine if YouTube had existed back when Amiga defined the desktop video market...
