Can not load the saved game in Quake 2

I just bought Quake 2, but I have a problem which I hope someone can solve.
When I've saved I can load as long as I have not quit Quake.
But when I try to load when I start Quake again lock the game in the consul.

Have downloaded and installed the last update.
