BabelCDFS & SquirrelSCSI
« on: June 12, 2010, 02:03:15 AM »
Hey,

Has anybody used BabelCDROMfs with SquirrelSCSI (Surf Squirrel in particular)?  I can't get it to work... mountlist seems to be OK, can mount cd0:, nothing shows on Workbench, but when I diskchange cd0: it reads the drive.  Just nothing ever shows on Workbench and I can never list cd0:

Bummer... the CDFileSystem with SquirrelSCSI/OS 3.0 sucks, as we know;  I don't want to screw around with getting CacheCDFS from another system, and I can't find my AsimCDFS installer disk(s), if I ever even had any to begin with...

I suspect the problem lies with squirrelscsi.device and the lack of DMA (maybe) but I guess I could just try another CD-ROM drive too.  This one works fine with SquirrelSCSI's CD32 emulation...

ah life.  Guess I'll mess around with the Aminet one
Amiga user since \'96, when I could finally afford one
Commodore 8-bit since before I could tie my shoes

You could copy the from cachecdfs and CD0 files to your Amiga with the Squirrel SCSI controller and edit the CD0 file. The only thing you have to do is change xxxSCSI.Device to SquirrelSCSI.device and the Unit number from your SCSI CD-ROM.
