New to Amiga

Hi, to start with I have this weird infatuation with learning old systems. I purchased Amiga Forever and C64 Forever, because I wanted to learn these systems. My problem is, I can't find very much documentation on them. Most sites i've been too tell you specific details about hardware, or programing for them but everything assumes you know and have used the system for a long time. That I understand is going to be the way since it is a legacy system. But I was wondering if there are any manuals or tutorials on using the system.  I only have experience with MS Windows, Linux, and BSD systems. So far i've really enjoyed toying around with it though. I especially love how advanced the system was for its time. I'm even interested in seeing if I can find a old amiga system to purchase instead of having to run the emulations. If anyone can point me int he right direction, I would be very appreciative.

Manuals can be found and schematics too.
I am sorry I do not have any links to them.
You can look at ebay, amibay, and at time there are some who sell books here.
Magazine can be found some times.
Keep looking you will find it.

Whats pretty sad is i'm stationed in Germany(US Military) but I can't read or speak german, but i've noticed a lot of Amiga material on the net is in german

What level do you want to start with?  There is a programming forum for Amiga at http://utilitybase.com/ with the reference materials for AmigaOS 3.9 available.  Unfortunately there seems to be some sort of attack notice there but I haven't seen it there myself.

If you're looking for software, head for http://aminet.net/.  It has most of the free-ware and shareware stuff for the Amiga.  -edit- Keep an eye on the architecture icons.  You can't run PowerPC apps with the emulator.

I don't read or speak German either but I can try to answer some of your questions here.

sorry dont mean to go of topic but i have just watched some of your vids on youtube and think your amiga setup is absolutly awesome wish i had a setup like that.
