Die, Puny App-writers!

In what looks like the developmental equivalent of Bloodline's iphone game, apple have decided to stomp down and squish anybody writing apps for the iphone using anything other than a few select tools:

Quote
Developer Greg Slepak wrote an e-mail to Apple boss Steve Jobs setting out his problems with the clause saying it "limited creativity".

Mr Jobs responded saying that the limits would improve the quality of the applications. Letting developers use other tools would produce "sub-standard apps" and hold back the progress of the iPhone.

Well I'm sure it's just as possible to write sub-standard apps with the sanctioned tools as well.

Stuff like this serves to remind me why I just can't be remotely arsed with apple.

How about a WePad: Flash, Java, SDCard, Linux OS.  Now hopefully they get the interface right. Right ready for a full internet experience.
