Your favourite developer?
« on: April 04, 2010, 04:56:10 PM »
For the amiga, which was your fave game developer ?

There were a lot of great companies but the one that stands out in my mind is Team 17. I know a lot of people like to hate on them, but the Alien Breed series alone is worth it to me.

I know a lot of people like to hate on [Team 17]...

???

On what planet do people hate Team 17? They're the pinnacle of excellence.

I grew up in Germany in the 80s, so the obvious choice is Rainbow Arts and especially the famous Chris Hülsbeck. But I also have a lot of respect for Jim Sachs and the Psygnosis guys that did Shadow Of The Beast.

A lot of them....but Magnetic Scrolls comes to mind.  Team 17 games are excellent.  MicroProse published excellent games.
Music I've made using Amigas and other retro-instruments: http://theovoids.bandcamp.com

Ocean and Infogrames. (I don't remember if the games were good, but those were the logos I most fondly remember. I must have liked their games.)

I typed this before, but apparently I didn't click "post".  D'oh!  ;-)

I'd say David Jones.
Menace, Blood Money AND Lemmings!
Fun!!!

I even forgive him for the 3D GTA thing that people seem to like for some reason..

Pity you asked about game developers, otherwise I'd have said Carl Sassenrath.

As it is, probably Team17 as a "first among equals" with Bullfrog, Psygnosis and Bitmap Brothers.

I'll have to say Bitmap Bros. too. But Psygnosis and Team 17 are right up there too.
