AMC a Media Center for AROS, Amiga OS and MorphOS

Hi guys,
most of you will know it already but for those which missed the news,
have a look at http://www.aresone.de to get a feel how it will look like. The icons/graphics will change because of the license theme. The icons will be designed by the man who did the Ares-logo(André Nolte).

If someone has time, feel free to send an own icon-set. I offer 100€ for the winner - this means only one can get it and who wins will be decided by the public. If you need details just contact us.

Allanon is working on this and the app will support all Amiga-systems.

When it is ready it will be bundled with every AresOne and Ares Media Center(Box) too.

The price will be fair and low : )

During the coming week i will upload a little demonstration of the audio-part.

The Audio-part will run on Efika smooth, i have one but without morphos(linux only). The video-part will work as good as mplayer does. I don't know how good mplayer works on your system. I will check this out when AMC is complete.

Yes but this is no problem since different things can have the same names. Also AMC stays for AROS/Amiga Media-Center.

Will AMC be able to utilize FFmpeg to transcode videos on-the-fly (ala Tversity)?  If it can, I may be tempted to get an AresOne to replace my current Media Server.

Not this time but it will be added later. First we need FFmpeg on AROS. It would be possible to do it for morphos and AmigaOS but AMC should be on every system the same. Getting FFmpeg for AROS is on top of my todo list : )

I figure AMC could also be used to indicate a single, solitary, master of ceremonies, too.
