A4000 in Quantum Apocalypse film
« on: March 03, 2010, 07:33:52 PM »
Just been flicking through a new film called Quantum Apocalypse. film looks a bit rubbish, but i found it amusing to spy an A4000 in it. The bloke sitting it at says something along the lines of "amiga has a superior operating system"

Pity they had to get a VT4000 to stand in!

Also, what's with the sticker that says "COMPUTER" - speaks ill of Amiga users if it takes a sticky note to tell the difference between a computer and a monitor, regardless of the OS.  Save that for mac users! :D

Terry, the character who saves the world in Quantum Apocalypse has Autism. I don't think this speaks ill of Amiga users, I think you'll find many of us live with autistic spectrum conditions and other mental health issues. Perhaps it's the reason AmigaOS makes more sense to us than other Operating Systems. Sure, not all of us put post-it labels on everything, but many of us have quirks regular people would find odd.

That's why they had the A500, A1200 and A600. Put the keyboard on the computer to make it easier for us Amiga users. Less labels required.

Cammy....why put yourself in a box, there is no need to do that here. The little I know about autism is the "spectrum" you speak of includes the essential genii that theorised about and created practically every major step forward in our social/technical evolution since humanity jumped out of the bath shouting eureka,

;)
was Enterprise Vault (Its an Exchange Fail!), now its EMC Avamar, Dedupe for mostly everything including brain cells.

I watched this a couple of weeks ago - it's currently showing on the Sci-Fi channel here in the UK.

The film is piss poor, but the chap with the Amiga is brilliant! In a nutshell, the Amiga 4000 saves planet earth when the big government system "runs out of memory". It transpires that this dude has done all the necessary calculations on his Amiga. They even have to find a video cable to plug it into their systems!

Amiga saves planet Earth. The end.

Again? Another Amiga saves the planet movie ;)

>> the big government system "runs out of memory".

Does that mean I didn't have to buy that Fastlane Z3 for the memory expansion in order to save the world with my A4000? Sheesh, and I had to upgrade the Fastlane ROM and all too.

No, it means that another colossally stupid writer was let near the (amiga?) keyboard again...seriously, I'm not surprised the movie didn't involve someone stealing the internets...:P

Not the worst film in the world but if you ever find you got a bad film on your hands, then just cast some Amiga's. Job done.
