FS: HP ScanJets 4c and IIcx (SCSI)
« on: February 17, 2010, 08:50:26 PM »
Follow-up to my previous thread, I have these two monstrous workhorses available.  Buyer pays shipping, and they are monstrous.  Both work very well, and have been in service up until recently.  Make an offer... ANY offer.  I may have some SCSI cables to include, but not sure about specifically for the Amiga.

Is the 'IIcx' a Mac or just a coincidence that it's a printer with the same name?

(The Mac in question: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_ii/stats/mac_iicx.html).

Just a coincidence on the model number.

As for pics, I do not have any of my own to post, but I found two that you can see from another website.  These would be representative of their appearance in my posession.  I will get a couple of pics of my own tomorrow.  They are both full-sized flatbed scanners.  There are some accesories available, like slide and negative attachments, none of which I have.

Although I don't need another scanner, I'd like to add that I have used a HP ScanJet 5c, which is only the next model after the one being offered here, and it was an excellent full colour scanner with perfect Amiga compatibility. The software is available and very easy to use, with all the options you'd expect, like fast black & white preview, then you can select an area you'd like to scan in full colour, or select the whole page. I ran it with an Amiga 1200 with 8MB Fast RAM and a Squirrel SCSI interface in the PCMCIA slot (so the RAM was reduced to 5.5MB) and it worked fine.

I'd recommend a SCSI HP ScanJet to any Amiga user in need of a good, solid scanner. The only drawback may be that they're quite a bit larger than today's slimline models, but they're built to last!

Thanks for offering your experiences, Cammy.  Much appreciated!

And for those who asked for pictures, I took a quick snapshot of the 4c with my 1200 sitting on top.
