Looking for a non-working CyberStormPPC / MK III

Looking for a CyberStormPPC with a non-working PowerPC


I have this 604e for sale 50 euros with install. Of course, you pay only if this new CPU works



Anyone tried to put a PPC into an MK III ? Possible ?

Is that chip new pre-balled? Or is it one that has been removed? What does it look like on the underside?

There is quite a bit of work to make a MKIII into a PPC as non of the electrical components for power to the PPC are in place. Should be possible though.

i think he means a non working PPC processor only,but has i said in another thread what iv found is that most faults on the Blizzard PPC card is not on the CPU. i only found one card with a faulty CPU and another with a crack joint,but most faults is somewhere else on the card.

i found most CPU turn out to be ok.

this may also applie to the Cyberstorm PPC cards,but due to the work iv done on the Blizzard PPC cards i don`t think it will take me long to master this card as i already know what to look for.

afaik the faster 604e/333 or 350Mhz uses different voltage.

@Alexh: in the your 2000 or 2001 i wanted to upgrade my CSMKIII to an CSPPC by DCE.
Thomas Dellert told me, it´s not possible to upgrade an CSMKIII to an CSPPC.
There was selected PCB´s.

My 604e is G333, so according to the datasheet :

Vdd = 2.0v - 2.1v
OVdd = 3.2v - 3.65v


604e from Motorola :

Vdd = 2.5v
OVdd = 3.3v

their also said it`s not possible to upgrade a Blizzard card to SCSI how iv proved them wrong.

nope, without modification to the CSPPC SMPS regulator IC (is a Linear LTC1430CS) that drives the PPC core.

we are speaking about a CPU core voltage here!

Anyway if you are brave enough, that power management IC have a variable output.
