Well, yeah, you insert your CyberGraphX v4 CD and the installation continues. The update is for v4, not for v3.

You can't upgrade from cgfx3 to cgfx4, you need the cgfx4 cd.
The upgrade is well worth it btw, atleast if you're using a bvision card because of the big speedup

Unfortunately, the CD it is referring to is the commercial CyberGraphX V4 CD.  It was sold as a separate package.  The V4 RC6 update won't update a V3 installation, only a V4 one.

Requiring people to purchase that V4 update CD really killed the CyberGraphX platform.  :-(

And as i said before, the upgrade is really worth it for Bvision cards, but i have no experience with other gfx cards

of course if you were to have a cd or an assign with the same volume name as the installer is looking for it would continue and if memory serves me ccorrectly will work also

well some of the people here act like Hypocrites!!!  i'am sorry to say that
but, i dont think at all that the upgarde to v4 is worth the money!
there is a lot of bug, even in v4! and this is not the only problem.of this upgarde.
and lot of the guys here dont buy nothing for the amiga (besides the amiga itself).
so please dont be two faced! i just ask help to dowanload the upgarde v4, NOT to buy it! if i want to buy it i google my self and find where to buy it.

Did you try what JJ proposed? Not sure exactly what that CD's label is supposed to be called, but that would be a good start.

Along with an A4000 I bought a long time ago, it had the V4 software on it in the form of a separate archive (supposed to be full version). Of course, it's not a simple matter of "installation" as you are running into. I changed it's name and wrote an assign and I still couldn't get it to work after I tried it on another system.

I agree with you though (others will not) that the Cybergrafx software is buggy as hell. I've never liked using it on my various Amiga's at all and always ended up going back to the P96 drivers. They say your mileage may vary, but I have yet to experience a successful and rewarding Cybergrafx installation.

Oh and yeah... this site and most of the members do not advocate piracy of any kind. Especially for products that are current or may currently be bought from a legitimate dealer.

If you're "Mr. Google" than just google up the V4 to download yourself!  Nobody that I read was being "two Faced".  They were all trying to help you.  I just can't figure out why you want an upgrade that is not "worth the money", has a "lot of bug", and that "is not the only problem".  In fact one of the replys told you how to do the upgrade if you were too cheap to purchase the CD.

Why do you even want it if there are so many problems with it?

As it is a commercial product you'd better go elsewhere.

Works pretty good here, but then it did come as part of the OS. Used P96 on my PIV and Amithlon where it worked well enough, but it certainly wasn't flawless.

I am not advicating piracy as I am not  telling anyone how to download.  I too would agree that on the whole its a nightmare of RTG system to get working especailly if you got ppc and bvision(which means I believe you are stuck with it)

Just look in the installer script for what volume name its looking for.  From memory and this is going back a good few years, it does not need any files from the CD just makes sure you have got the volume.  Im pretty sure I just created a cd with that volume name and hey prestty could install v4 upgrades over my legit v3 install.

Probabably was not wise.

Am I correct that p96 does not support bvision  ?

The old m68k version does not, I would imagine the version included in OS4 does.
