You might also ad pal in your request as that works with more games.

If you boot an NTSC model into PAL mode with the early startup menu, it'll play PAL games just fine.

Since I am going to be using an RGB monitor, it shouldn't matter which type of system I get, should it ?

If you use an RGB monitor that doesn't scroll when it receives a PAL signal, you'll be fine for when you want to access the early startup menu and games. But yeah, there's a lot more available in PAL for this system, so not a bad idea to go 50hz native. It's what I did when I had my A1200. The few extra lines of resolution came in handy on the Workbench too  :)

But as Tone suggested - you can force NTSC units to be PAL if you want. And yes, just because you have an RGB monitor, does not guarantee it'll handle PAL just fine. There are a couple of issues you might run into, such as the bottom of the screen slightly missing. May not scroll on you, but you also might not be able to view the entire screen unless you play around with the adjustments (which may or may not fully help either).  Which monitor is it btw?

It should work fine. The reason I said pal is most games were pal versions from what I have seen and from my collection. They don't work well on 1084's, pal I mean. You could always get an indivision. I purchased one. they work well on vga monitors.

Via RGB, a 1084 is fine for a PAL CD32 - ideal, even. It's composite where you run into issues.

I have had problems with pal games and cd32(ntsc)sx32pro rgb. That is why I use pal cd32 with sx32pro.

I have a Mitsubishi XC-3717C Megaview 37 Plus. Handles both 15khz and 31khz, so with the SX32 I have, I wanted to use the VGA connector with this monitor

Might work fine, we used those at rockwell in the 90's. I wish I had one of those monitors. The models we had could take any input available at the time up to vga and svideo.

yea even composite and s-video looks damn good on this monitor. S-Video isI what I use with my atari 7800 and 5200, and composite is what I use with my coleco and intellivision.

My NES, SNES, N64, Atari Jaguar/JagCD, Sega Genesis/32x/CD, Sega Saturn, 3DO, PSX, PS2, Neo Geo MVS 4-slot use RGB. And 37" is a lot of screen space :)
