ok, I changed my mind.. I'll TRADE it for a Mac Mini G4.  I'll pay shipping (USA) on this monster, you pay shipping in yours.

I just dont have time to mess with my Amiga stuff (no motivation)..but I would mess around with a Mac Mini.

Tom Weeks finally getting rid of the A500 Tower? Too bad. That thing is famous IMO.
...
I hope it goes to a good home, someone who doesn't split it up. Free is a steal for this slice of history.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.. I really put a lot of loving work into that machine. It killed me to just give it away, but I now have a family, was out of space and had to empty out the geek closet. :v/

Amiga really was the most fun computer system ever created.  Half the fun was the cool hardware and software that existed.. the other half was the community and people the platform attracted.  What a blast. :)

BTW>. for those who don't know.. NewTEk (creators of the Video Toaster, Kiki Stockhammer, etc) are right here in San Antonio.  It's like an Amiga Mecca. :)

Alex, I thought it was going to a good home when I gave it to you man.  I didn't know that you were going to just trade it for a Mac...  I'll contact you off-site to get the contact info of whomever you sent it to.. I have some info for them.

Oh well..  C'est la vie...

@Magic: I may have my hands on a Mac Mini G4.  I would be a proud caretaker of the Tower of Power.  Will PM you (or email me if you still have my email address.)

I should have jumped when I saw this. Could of had you drop it @ Altex on I35 and then I could of had them send it to me @ the Carrollton store. But then again, I'm going to be liquidating my stuff soon so it doesn't matter anyways. Just hope it goes to a good home.

But Dragster, you are in Mexico, and that's right next door to Texas, right?

Yeah, but I'm not anywhere near the USA/MEX border... I'm in Mexico City, which is located in the middle of the Country, it would be a ~1400 kilometer (one way) trip to San Antonio... I just can't justify such a trip to go for an A500, eventhough this is a special one.

Cheers,

All the above are among the reasons we need a physical:

!!! Amiga Museum  !!!

With virtual access too, of course. The Power Tower, the pre-release black box on fleabay, and lots of others. Anyone have a friend at the Smithsonian? :) Maybe Amiga Inc could create an endowment ...

Looks like a great offer. Even if someone else gets it, thanks for supporting the community.

It's fine if you guys mirror the site.  Just be sure to link back to the live version.

BTW.. I jus reregistered the domain for ten more years... so it should be around a while. ;)
