I am desperately awaiting the press conference on 27/01/10.  Please let it be a Mac tablet....

A laptop,
My Voodoo U709 is getting to show its age, and since HP bought Voodoo PC and has totally gutted them, to get the "true" upgrade, you have to either go to Alienware or Falcon NW.
I don't like the quality of the Alienware since Dell has taken over, as I find Dell has really watered down the quality, opting for very cheap parts, so I am leaning towards a Falcon NW "Fragbook DTR" which is the true upgrade to the Voodoo U709. It has an I7 Extreme processor and 3 hard drives. My Voodoo has an AMD 3800 and just 2 drives and 2 DVD Burners, but the biggest limitation is it only allows for 2 gig of DDR2 ram (and it only has a Nvidia 7950 GTX). I wanted to just get an Opteron 185 for it, but they still want about $350 on E-bay for that CPU.
I have Amiga stuff for sale at http://amigalounge.com. You can follow my builds there also.

I just recently got a Toshiba satellite A500 it's great except the screen is not 2ms like my 22inch Asus. I get nauseus using the laptop screen  after a little while. The big co's always cut corners whereever they can. Buying a 2ms flat panel only increases the price by about $30-$50 talk about being cheap asses. There is no chance you would ever get (or got) a good soundblaster in a name brand system. Alienware are the only ones I know of that do proper gaming rigs.

This is just the roll of the dice, but the next machine will be an A2000 with an 030, 12Mb RAM, 3.1 ROM and a Spectrum video card.
If I win the lottery, I might look into the new X1000 when available...
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

Seeing as my PC is still pretty much up to scratch and I have several classics and an A1, probably a PPC mac for MorphOS 2.x and maybe an X1000, depending on how many organs I have that aren't critical.

Im going to downgrade my Q6660 to AMD dual core chip + SSD so my workstation idles at 30 watt instead of 92 watt. Going to rip out my 15 watt AMD Radeon graphics card too since games is less important these days.

I voted Amiga but not sure if this is gonna happen this year.  I had expected some funds now and didn't get it.  Fortunately, a year from now I will be having a new job with no such problems as funding.

I might get a Sam anytime but instead, I'd like to invest some money in my education this year (like PG studies but not only).

So I will end up on Sam or X1000, hopefully the latter one.  Having MorphOS already would give me enough Amiga fun for a year, thats sure.

I didn't include a new smartphone though, I'm getting Blackberry in March. But this is jsut an ordinary cell phone swap on contract renewal.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

I got an A3000 for Christmas.  So, pretty much in order at this point:

  • [strike]Q6700 for my workstation.  This will be a business purchase, as it will allow me to do more virtualization for customer support.  These are getting difficult to find at reasonable prices, but it's the top proc my DQ board will support.[/strike]

  • Replacement Buster and WD chips for my A3000.
  • Deneb for my A4000D.
  • Get one of my two dead CyberstormPPC boards fixed.
