Trade A2500 (060) for A1000 Phoenix setup
« on: January 07, 2010, 09:33:55 PM »
Okay, this might sound like a strange deal, but hear me out. I've come to the sad realization that I do not use my 2060 card for any other reasons than to have a snappy Workbench experience (which rocks, don't get me wrong) and games. In fact, the A2500 listed below has pretty much been relegated to gaming since A.org upgraded and ditched the few of us legacy users that liked to do something more productive with their Miggys. Not bitching (well, kind of), but it is what it is.

Anywho... Since I'm really all about just the nostalgia of the computer and don't need to be running demos or anything too fancy (mostly just games and the occasional light app), I'm thinking I'd really like an incredible souped up A1000 box. Either the GB Phoenix board totally built, tested, mint and ready to go (with ram, HD, etc.) or the classic Phoenix board that came out of Australia all those years ago. Wish list for a "dream" A1000 system would be 030 w/ FPU, 8MB or more RAM, internal HD mass storage solution with maybe something out one of the sides like a removable CF card (don't care even if it comes out ribbon style via expansion port as I already have the necessary parts), 2MB Chip Ram, Kickstart 3.1 and jeez, maybe even an Indivision ECS.

Would anyone be up for trading? Remember, the A2500 system listed below could be parted out or wholly for a really nice A1000 setup. LMK what your thoughts are if so... thanks!

PS: I'm not bent on parting out my A2500 for cash (especially peanuts), so please don't ask! If I can't secure an A1000 system as listed above, I 'may' consider a nice cash offer + an 030 card and RAM w/ SCSI for the 2060...

Sounds like you're looking to take a step backwards!  Why not trade that 2500 for a nice AmigaOne?
3 Commodore file cabinets, 2 Commodore USB turntables, 1 AmigaWorld beer mug
Alienware M14x i7 laptop running AmigaForever

Oh yeah, it's quite a few steps backwards computing wise, but like I said - the system as it sits just isn't getting used. Thinking monetarily here as far as trade bait. Probably more thinking along the lines of trading some of the internal cards for a Phoenix product. I've already got a nice A1000 case or two.
