But /kw/ is two speech sounds, in just the same way that /st/ is two speech sounds and /str/ is three speech sounds. If we're going to allow multiple phonemes to collapse into single graphemes, as in /kw/ -> 'q', then why not create a letter for every cluster which exists in the English language?

Now, it's interesting that Hyperion and A-EON choose X for branding (OSx x86 X windows etc). I wonder how related the Amiga X is to other X'es.

I once sat in an exam and had a complete and total brainwipe right there in the examination hall, despite having spent long and tedious hours locking the subject down with rigorous revision. Not my finest hour, but I hope I amused the examiner with my five haikus explaining the issue.
