A1200 PPC/040 BVision project
« on: December 17, 2009, 07:57:01 PM »
FS or Trade:  Canada buyer preferred, located in Central Alberta.  Probably will not be able to complete a transaction on this until the new year, just a note.

This is an ebay find I bought when I first got my Amiga nostalgia bug mid 2008.  SAM came out shortly after that, and I never used this much past booting it up.  Recently while trying to put it all together again I realized how much old hardware annoys me lately so I have decided to run my Amiga based BBS on a UAE mini-itx box or my SAM.

All parts work fine, currently unassembled as I was going to chuck it into a tower case.  Never got that far.  Will throw it back in the 1200 shell for sale if needed, it's currently stripped down to MB/accel/gfx card since I was going to tower it before I lost interest.  It ran too hot for my liking in the A1200 case and I really cannot justify spending the money on a PCI expansion/tower kit.

A1200 - 3.1 ROMS, mouse, OS 3.1 floppy disks, PS
Blizzard PPC 603e 160 MHz/68040 25 MHz accelerator.  Fresh thermal grease on the heatsink and PPC CPU.
BVision gfx card - some of the plastic bit on the VGA connector is snapped off.  The BVision still works fine, however, it is purely cosmetic and would not give a bit of trouble unless you are dragging the 1200 physically by the VGA cable.
32 MB RAM in the accel currently, but have another 2 32 MB chips from an old PC I can include.  These worked fine in my old PC, but I did not get around to testing them on this Amiga accelerator card, so they are just freebees.  Said chips worked fine on my PC and are compatible with the accelerator.

1 GB HD that came with it, as well as another 120 GB 2.5" HD from an old USB drive (WD brand, 5400 RPM) that I will throw in.  System will need a new OS install.

Price is negotiable.  I'd prefer to deal with someone in Alberta, Canada.  If that is not possible, someone in North America.  I *MAY* consider trading this for a decently equipped A3000 or A4000 in lieu of cash.  It's a nice little rig, I just don't want something that's all cobbled together and I don't want to spend more money on it.  As a whole I probably overpaid for this rig, so any sane offers is what I am looking for - WILL NOT PIECE OUT.  Pics gladly provided to you via email if interested.

Thanks!
