HDRec reaches 1.0!
« on: December 15, 2009, 12:46:59 AM »
I'm a bit lazy (and it's getting late) to do a decent news post but it seems that HDRec, a great music software for AmigaOS and it's variants, has reached version 1.0 :) New features and fixes. It's weird that the author of such cool software doesn't take the time to post a news items on Amiga sites.

Night to all....
José

That's really great news. I like this program. I look forward to purchase the full version 1.0.

Anyone know if it runs on the latest MorphOS?

It certainly worked on the older versions of Morphos but I can't vouch for the latest version.

The author of this cool software doesn't even put the lastest version on his homepage.

I tried to message a moderator to remove this but it was getting late in the night:) Yeah he put 1.0 on the front page and then it's not available.

Sorry for the messy news :(

HD-Rec will be OpenSource and FreeWare before X-Mas.

I just need to adjust some DSP Effects for 24/8bit.

I'm hoping you don't stop supporting it, inspite of it being opensource/freeware.

Hi bubblebobble, assuming you're Thilo, I tried to contact you privately at the "contact me" email address on your site, but it does not work. Anyway, I just wanted to ask you about a possible AROS port, but since you've announced HD-Rec it will be open-sourced, I just think my question wouldn't be so smart... Thank you for your great sound software, and happy to hear it will be even open!

Wow!
Thilo, thank you. This is a very generous decision.
Even though I've switched all of my audio work to Logic on the Mac, I would still have happily paid a small fee for this wonderful piece of software.

You created, in my opinion, the most comprehesive music programme/DAW that ever has been or ever is likely to be seen on the Amiga platform.

For that alone I salute you. :pint:

Yes, many of the emails go direclty to the spam filter. I get incredably amounts of spam on this email, so it is very restrictive.

I will still support HD-Rec, but not with the effort I did in the last years. There is simply not enough time anymore (job, familiy etc.) and I have other programming projects.
But of course, bugfixes will be done as well as feature requests, as long as they are not too huge and if they make sense to my opinion. But as it is open source, other people can join the deveopment, even though I think nobody will.

I am not ideology driven when it comes to the different Amiga Platforms. However I am biased to 68K because I use WinUAE. I would like to AROS too in the future. But HD-Rec is coded in Amiblitz3, so there is no chance of an easy port to AROS.

One of my current projects is to implement an IDE for a new Language that will be called A/A++. I hope people from AROS will join me here and write a codegenerator for AROS. This language might bridge the gap between Amiblitz3 and other Platoforms, and might allow a port of Amiblitz3 software more easily than converting the sourcecode to C, which is, quite hard. (looks easy, but gets hard in details...)

So long...
