Lemmings2: Problems with WDLoad
« on: September 03, 2009, 07:04:02 PM »
Hello,

I am trying to play Lemmings2 on my A500+ (68000 Processor, 8Mb FastRAM, 2Mb ChipRAM) however I am getting the following error:

error during 'resload_Patch'
invalid command PLCMD_11074 $E02 at address $9FF684 (Slave $194)

I am getting this error both on the real hardware and also WinUAE (same specifications mentioned above).

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Regards,
Sim085

Does it work if you set WinUAE to 68030?

No it does not work in WinUAE with CPU set equal to 68030 and neither if set to 68020! I also tried to set the Chipset to AGA but I had the same error message!

Looks like the whdload pack is corrupted, dowload it again and unpack it directly under Amiga enviroment.

Never unpack it under winblows, some archives will lost the protection bits or even scramble archive's names.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

I'm wondering if there aren't real problems with old installs and new 16.9 WHDload. I'm seeing this in some AGA games, and I know the ROM is good (given to me by a maintainer of one of the big install sites).

And all this brings up a question, what good is WHDload project when a new version comes along, and doesn't work with established installs and roms? All seems kinda uncoordinated and not sustainable.

Is it a Non-DOS game? It was a long time ago, but iirc, i installed and ran the game from my HD by writing a simple DOS script.

I am not sure which version of WHDLoad I am using but I can check when I go back home. I have Lemmings (the original) also on WHDLoad which works fine and several other games work fine as well. To say the truth I always extract the .lha files on Windows. So I might try what rkauer suggested and extract the contents.

Additionally I wanted to add that on WHDownload there are two versions of Lemmings2; one is labeled 1Mb and the other one 512Kb. I do not know the difference between the two altough both of them give the same problem.

The lemmings2 whdload installer asks which version you want to install. So there's no problem.

Do you mean it asks if you want to install the 1Mb or 512Kb version? (what is the difference?). Or you mean that if I use the installer then it works fine?

On WHDownload there are both versions but both give the same problem!

The lemmings 2 disks are dos disks.  Never seen the point of a whdload installerr for it.   There is a hd installer on one of the disks from memory.

If not just copy the files onto HD and set up assigns for the two disks

No the are dos disks as in readable in workbench so you can see and copy the files from the disks yourself to a HD

Yes, it asks you if you wanna use the 512k or the 1MB version. The 1MB version might have some more GFX & SFX.
Download the whdload installer: http://www.whdload.de/games/Lemmings2.lha

You must have the 512K version, as the 1MB version has 3 disks (just checked my original version).

I tried to use the installer however I get the same exact error when I try to play the game! Additionally I did not find any installer on any of the Lemmings disk ... should I just copy the contents of the disk on hard disk? If yes then how do I create an icon to start the game?
