installing amiFTP = Warning
« on: November 03, 2003, 01:23:49 PM »
Hi all,
I wanted to transfer files between my 2 A1200s and I was recommended amiFTP, to create a client/server connection.
I installed amiFTP yesterday (on amigaOS3.9) and now problems appear :
-amidock does not work anymore
-miami does not work anymore
Because amiFTP replaced some classes, claimed to be 100% compatible with the original ones and in fact it is not so be carefull.

if its the same AmiFTP i use then its probably right, it is compatable with the original classes.  The program while small/usefull is stoneage so the replacment classes are older then the updates os35/39 reaction classes. This is most likely the trouble.

erk oops, I forgot to mention that when I recommended AmiFTP in a thread on here.. :-) Dont insntall it on OS3.5+, it will run straight from the box. Though its faily easy to fix, just see what classes it installs and copy them back over from your OS3.9 CD and reboot....
