glquake 060+ voodoo3 settings needed
« on: November 02, 2003, 11:51:48 AM »
Hey guys...

If any of you would be so kind I could use some help with setting up glquake...

What I'm really interested in is how your glquake txt file looks like inside :-)

Mine looks as follows:
cd Games:3D/Quake
stack 600000

glquake68k  -gamma 0.7 -width 320 -height 240 -bpp 16 -litfiles -lm_RGB -mem 16 -zone 1024 -particles 64 -audspeed 5513 -nocdaudio

When executing this file I get:
Error: opening of display failed
I_Error: no context, exiting...

Please help, I'm running with P96 btw

check the unof mediator site for the correct version.

but i would say , go to aminet and download BLITZ QUAKE , its the vodoo version andits damn fast and its good eyecandy.

anyway here is my line.. (optimized for speed (about 40 fps in 640x480x16)

c:addbuffers scsi_games: 8000
stack 6666666
glquakeWOS_blitz -particles 64 -hicontrast -gamma 0.4 -mem 100 +map pap -width 640 -height 480 -zone 1024 -audspeed 4000 -nocdaudio -ip 10.0.0.2 -joypad -joy_onlypsx -joy_psxdeadzone 48 -dither ON

and litfiles is ON
Whats up with all the hate!

No, it doesn't kick arse here neither. In fact, BlitzQuake has never worked here.

I have now got a freshly installed OS3.9 with Boing Bag 1 & 2... Er... Let me think... The mediator software installed aaaaaand.... PowerIcons & MCP... That's all I think & BlitzQuake does the same thing it's always done. It loads a little then the system locks up, no mouse movement, no drive activity, there are only 3 keys that get me out of there.

I can get the QuakeGL version working from the unofficial mediator site working, but this has crazy polygons being drawn all over the place they shouldn't be.

Are you running in no-MMU mode from an A1200?  If so, and you need to use no-MMU mode,  use the flag "-lockmodesmart".  The performance isn't as good as running in MMU mode, but it will work without gfx trashing.
