Amiga 500 RGB to SCART to S Video question

Bit of an odd technical question. Any help would be appreciated.

I just recently acquired an A520 for my A500. While the picture quality is *ok* with the video (not rf out) I want a better picture.

Until I get a 1084S I have seen diagrams for wiring an RGB to SCART cable...I have also seen SCART to S Video

Now here is the question:

I live in North America were S Video is in and SCART doesn't exist much.  Would it work if I made the RGB to SCART hack and then added a SCART to S Video to connect to my TV?

If you are referring to the "Video out" on the A520 it is ok I just want to have a cable only method of connecting and avoid using the A520.

I think you need some sort of circuit to convert the RGB into chroma luma used in S-video.  But, since you have an A520 already you can modify that to S-video.  (I haven't tried this yet myself so...)

Ah ok...I did find a diagram for 23 PIN D-SUB FEMALE Amiga to SCART and a seperate one for SCART to Svideo.

In theory I should be able to bypass SCART and go RGB to S video.

If RGB analog pins 3,4,5 go to Pin 15 SCART on a RGB to SCART cable

and...

SCART pin 15 goes to S Video 4 on a SCART to S Video cable

then...

Couldn't you just go RGB 3,4,5 to S Video Pin 4?

RGB pin 10 is Composite Sync and on a SCART goes to pin 20. SCART 20 goes to pin 3 on S Video

So again couldnt RGB pin 10 go directly to S Video pin 4?

Ground to ground...

I am not an electrician or wiring expert but at 12AM my logic sounds good to me hehe
