A530 power supply connector pinout
« on: August 07, 2009, 07:54:19 PM »
Hi,

I have recently purchased an A530 with no power supply and have struggled to find any precise details as to the power pinouts for it. I have found a pinout for the GVP HD8+ which has the same 5 pin DIN at http://amigahardware.mariomisic.de/cgi-bin/showhardware_en.cgi?HARDID=1194 but is this the same pinout?

I have a working A590 and was thinking of making a simple converter cable from the 4 pin DIN which it uses to the 5 pin DIN the A530 requires, or buying an A500 PSU and modding that.

Any help would be appreciated as at the moment I don't know if I have bought an A530 or a lemon :) and I certainly don't want to wire it up wrong and turn it into one!

Thanks, Paul.

I read somewhere CD32 has same power socket, but make that double checked.

Scroll down low and you'll find 2 great pics of CD32 connector which should be the same as A530. After you verify current working condition, you might consider bypasing A530 power gate in order to drain power from A500. It worked in my case, but only when I replaced power hungry SCSI HDD with CF.

Thanks for the response. I have already come across this page at some point on a late night amiga info hunt :)

I'm not sure the CD32 info will be of any use as that shows it having a 4 pin DIN connector where as the A530 has a 5 pin DIN.
