We use an Epson 1660U with FXScan software - works well with an A1200 with Subway USB

You can also try the Betascan software on Aminet: http://aminet.net/search?query=betascan

I use an old Epson GT6500, works on anything from an A500 upwards.
It came with its own software when new and its very easy to use.

I use a trusty old HP5P with my A1200. Works nicely, although I hardly ever use it.

I, too, was using a Scanjet 5p. Until it died. Worked great with FXScan, though.

Using an Artec AM12S with ScanQuix 5, attached to my 1260's SCSI module of course... Aside from taking some time to warm up, I'm very happy with it....

I'm working on new scanner software called SCANdal (previous name was muiscan).
It's Morphos project but Shinkuro helps me making ports for other Amigaoses.

I have 68k beta so If somebody could test it would be nice:
http://brain.umcs.lublin.pl/~rzookol/tmp/SCANdal.exe
Gfx card is required and software use betascan drivers. New scanners will be supported when uptodate betascan port (including sane backends) will be finished (progressing well).

Screenshot:
http://brain.umcs.lublin.pl/~rzookol/pics/muiscan8.png

about scaners:
I have two scanners: big and fast Umax Astra 1200S (A4 in grey mode in 15 secs using 68k betascan driver and 18 secs using native morphos driver :) ), and slow Mustek 600II CD. Both works. I have some scanners using popular gt68xx chip so next drivers will be made for this chipset.

So does this work AmigaOS 3?

I remember what fun my first scanner was back in the 90s, handheld 200dpi color one that you had to move ever so slowly with and make sure you didn't skew anything, $300 or so that one cost.

These days, I hate scanners.
