@Cammy

We will have some PAL versions soon.  Hope times get better for you.

Amigakit, as far as I understand, these kits come with Super agnuses. Have you found a niche of PAL super agnuses ? I've seen NTSC super agnuses around, but PAL super agnus is something of a rarity. Also I believe super agnus is not a 'new' part, but unused old stock ?

No, they were not recycled from old A500+

These were spare Super Agnus from spare Commodore inventory.

If you have a question for the folks at Amigakit about their source for the chips then step up and ask the question to Amigakit or PM them.  Don't make accusations unless you have some facts backing your statement.

amigakit, it's nice to know that. will there be a price difference between PAL and NTSC versions ? I think the current price is quite reasonable for a new item under warranty.

agreed.  good points but still price is a bit high.

The price reflects that the stock has not been pre-owned, it has a warranty from us and is supported by us.  Customers get after-sales support which is important factor in the Amiga market for most users.

You should not make price comparisons of second-hand inventory with new inventory.

All our packages are packed well and we send many packages across the US every week.

Here's a good idea: don't buy one.  If the price is too high the market will decide.  If I didn't already have two MegaAChips in systems and a 500+, I'd most certainly buy one for that price -- that's what I paid for each of mine used.  Instead, I'll pick up a Deneb.

I like the idea of a PLCC puller, but I have to say I like the socket.  I built all of my own hacks in sockets to avoid clip-on snafus and soldering mess (I can't believe how many hacks I've read which say to solder directly to the chip.)

@Firedawg

I believe the chips are actually ripped from A3000! and they use live kittens in the process!  :P

I currently have 1MB of chip ram in my A2000 and 4MB of fast. If I was to buy a super agnus mega chip where would the additonal 1MB chip ram come from? Would it be taken out of my 4MB fast ram leaving me with 2MB chip and 3MB fast?? Or does the mini mega chip have 1MB chip ram onboard?

Does anyone know if Amigakit have started to sell the pal version of this memory expansion? Its not listed on their website.
