Okay, so I downloaded and installed Deluxe Music 2.0, but cannot get the MIDI function to work. Set it to 'active', but no sound. Is there a midi.device I'm missing that needs to be put in the Devs:Midi drawer? I notice when you install DM, it asks what kind of Midi device you have out of ONLY 2 choices. I've selected both and they both drop icons in Devs:Midi, but neither work.
My Midi device is a ECE box hooked through the serial port...
You also need to set your instruments to a MIDI channel under "Set Instrument...", which I think is a separate window from the "MIDI Active" checkbox.
Think of Devs:Midi like Devs:Monitors or Devs:AHI. The contents don't do anything unless the correct hardware is present. So if I pull my CV3D card out of the machine, my CVision3D driver will still be "running", but as far as the screenmode database is concerned, it's not there.
There is no midi.device, just MIDI devices that go in Devs:Midi. If your box connects to the serial port, use the built-in serial driver. The Checkpoint and OneStopMusicShop drivers are analogous to CVision3D and Delfina.audio - if you don't have the hardware, they don't do anything.
