where to gin 44 pin IDE passthrough connector?

my IDE connector on my 1200 MB lost 7 pins when I took off the existing IDE cable recently..arghhh....I want to solder in a new one on the MB..any one know where I can get one?

Go to your local recycling center and look for a used computer to desolder it from.

Cheap and easy :)

You'd be hard pushed to find a used computer with those smaller pins on it - they're rarely used these days. Maybe have a look for a dead A1200 or A600 to take some pins off...

I'd probably just do the few pins, myself.

We can supply the full pin header with correct pitch for resoldering to the board.

I wish i could! In my parts 600's and especially 1200's are extremely hard to come by....

thanks for the link tone! I was thinking of just putting the loose pins back but then I thought if I was going to get the soldering kit out yet again I might as well do the full job right the first time! of course this thinking took me many many a year to grasp :-)

Like said, don't unsolder everything. Just clean the holes for the broken pins and solder them in one by one.
