like what i wont tell you what it is,i was just messing around so this is what it is.

it's a BGA socket for the CPU.

so if the CPU go's faulty,no problem just undo the four screws change the CPU under 1 min.

blizzard ppc card is classed as unknow for now,as the CPU as not being set this is due to BVSEL as being added in and has not being tested yet,but has pass test upto 300Mhz but with a little bit of luck should work  above 300Mhz.

Which set of pins did you add the socket too? The outer ring QFP or the BGA? How are you clocking it that high and what effect does it have on the rest of the board?

it's a BGA drop in replacement.

effects: none when running OS4.0 100% perfect

problems: some of the cooling system is missing/not ready can't run for a very long time.

warp-up under OS3.9 has a problem drop back to 74.666Mhz (298Mhz) with 68 or 68.666Mhz for 68k processor (10PPM).

important: must have the right ram modules i found most will fail even if it marked 50ns,i did two modification to get it to work.

Assuming you don't give a fig about the stability of 3.9, what's the fastest stable clock speed you could get?  400mhz?  433?

OS3.9 was never the problem **it's warp-up games only**.

but now that the problem has been fix,i will retest.

it does not matter what the final speed is,i just want to see a improvment.

but first i wiil finish my motherboard modification pcmcia LED. it now has card detect,this now shows me proper insert of the pcmcia card,this does not mean the card is compatible,i have to wait until the LED change colour from red to green? i say green as 1 card shows yellow when inserted.

in other words this A1200 motherboard can detect if the PCMCIA cards are compatible with A1200 motherboard regardless if drivers has been loaded or not.(BETA).

NOTE: i can not test every card but all cards here that shows green or yellow works. any card that shows red is already known not to work.

I'm really interested how you managed to solder the socket to the card?

also what type of modifications did you do for the ram modules?

adding a waitstate on the card? or something on the ram module?

UPDATE:

with the fix warp-up games is err kind of working again got lock-ups about say anything between 20 and 30 mins.

but this was done under OS3.5 with the 68k set at a new speed 69.666Mhz with the  PPC processor unchanged.

but there are a few things i can do to try and dial this out but the whole project remains BETA but the  speed should be 70Mhz for 68k and 320Mhz(80Mhz osc) for PPC. if it passes all test then everything moves to stage two.
