8meg.lha RAM expansion project
« on: June 27, 2009, 03:06:32 PM »
Hey,

Has anyone every tried making an 8mb expansion for the A500?  I have found one called 8meg.lha on aminet.  Anyone know of any other guides or advice on making one?

Would make it for the A500 first but has anyone ever tried adapting this for the A1200.  I notice due to the 020 '_UDS and _LDS' are missing, did google some info on this but cant find it now, doh!

Thanks

**Edit**
Found the 020 info
Note that unlike the 68000, the 68020 has a pin labelled A0; this is because instead of having two data strobes UDS* and LDS*, the 68020 has only one data strobe pin.

Rework an A500 RAM board for a 1200? Better make it 32 bit then and fast enough for the 14 MHz clock then. However, there's plenty of RAM boards for the 1200, so what's the point?

This is neither 500 nor 1200, but there is a build of an 8 meg ram card for the 600 in progress,

Official site is http://www.a608-amiga.co.uk/ (more info at EAB)

The first batch has been filled (20 units) + 10 pre-built units

The second batch will begin as soon as batch 1 is complete, this will be around 100 units!!

also might like to read through some of this... 020 for 600 (500) which is at the prototype stage!

Not in prototype stage yet! Only memory + IDE controller arrives proto stage.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

The guy behind IDE68k has updated his project to possibly contain 8MB RAM in the next revision.

Well, that webpage is a bit useless isn't it. I asked weeks ago what the price would be for one of those expansions and not 1 reply was given. If I'm going to reserve one I want to know what I have to pay in the end.

Seems like a not to serious project and webpage in my opinion.
