My 3000 needs a new CPU, any suggestions?
« on: October 27, 2003, 07:48:22 PM »
The A3640 card in my 3000 desktop died a few weeks ago. I love my old 3000, but don't want to spend a fortune to  replace the CPU in a 12 year old system. I have an 030 card that still works, but that's way to slow for my needs. Any good Ideals or suggestions on a replacement 040 (or 060) card for my box that won't send me to the poor house? BTW, I know some will answer "get A1 or Pegasos". Yes, someday, but I still want my 3000 if possible.

If you just want a system that works then the 030 should be fine!

I guess I better give more details, 'cause it needs to do better than just work. It runs two AD516 recording cards, does some lite studio recording, plays some old fav games and occasionally a bit of graphics and web browsing. This was originally a "dog slow" 030,  now I'm spoiled and I ain't going back  :-P

Thanks
