A1200 hardware patches
« on: October 27, 2003, 05:01:59 PM »
There are some mysterious patches on my A1200 rev 2B motherboard. Can anyone identify these?

1. on the CIA chip
2. from clockport to paula
3. and one resistor near the roms

I haven't had any problems with the machine, just curious  :-)

The easiest way to see what they do, is to cut them and see what stops working!! :-D

I'll take a peek at some schematics here later and see if they do anything useful. The only thing I can say off hand is that it doesn't appear that the person who did these didn't have terribly good soldering skills.

Alternative method for the timing fix? Broken traces on the board patched by these leads? I'm just guessing...

1: its a keyboard fix afaik! , looks like the one i buyed from ebay? or amibench, it seems that was what it did , you could press more than the regular max keys at same time without blocking the keyboard, sadly that mobo died (sound dissapeared)

2 and 3 i dont know , but it looks like some one tried to do an timer cheat....
but i aint a tekkie at all , i will follow this thread as i am really curious!.

pps: the dood who soldered it used to much heat atleast! :D
Whats up with all the hate!

Interesting.......

Regarding the A1200 keyboard fix, would it be possible to use software to solve the problem or is it hardware only? I might try that! :-)
