Office
« on: October 27, 2003, 03:43:30 PM »
Hi all,

I'm wondering if anybody ca recommend an office suite for my amiga.  As OpenOffice never managed to get ported I was thinking of AmigaWriter as I don't realy need anything else.

Of course, if anybody can help me learn sufficient C to port Open Office I'm happy to try and contribute.

There is no real officesuite for the Amiga. There are, ofcourse wordprocessors, spreadsheets and such for the Amiga, but although they are (very) usable, they shouldn't be compared to their pc-counterparts.

Anyway, if you want an officesuit, you'll have to handpick the programs you want in the suite all by yourself...

Porting Open Office is a nice idea, though... :-)

@Giga

MorphOS has Papyrus Office being ported to it.  But since it's not released yet, that does not help you much.
Try blazedmongers new Free Universal Computer kit, available with the GUI toolkit Your Own Universe, the popular IT edition, Extremely Reliable System for embedded work, Enhanced Database development and Wide Area Development system for telecommuting.
