Brilliant! I think it's great that they hack the new firmware before it's even released. Must be a naughty registered Apple developer either leaking the beta, or hacking it him/herself :)

My first iPhone was Jailbroken/unlocked even though I'm in a contract with O2. I haven't unlocked my 3G yet. It doesn't seem worth it for me, since the only thing I really miss is Taskbar Notifier. Hmmm, now I've seen the screenshots of that I miss it even more... might be time to Jailbreak my 3G :)

@ motorollin

i'm surprised you're not on the iPhone Social Group. It's a bit dead over there. Maybe you could give it a kick up the iPhone

If you would like to unlock your iPhones. You could purchase a gadget called a yessim from http://www.mrmobileuk.com/unlocking-equipment-c-344.html       I work in a phone shop and we've successfully unlocked a iphone and a Blackberry with a yessim.

Good luck

That's interesting. How does a device in the SIM slot unlock the phone? Does it also Jailbreak it?

It's quite easy. Just put it under the sim card and insert the sim in place. N0 it won't jailbreak it.

Oh ok, I've seen those devices before. They don't actually unlock the phone AFAIK, they just emulate the required carrier so the phone thinks it is on the network to which it is locked. It doesn't actually make any changes to the phone itself.

My O2 contract won't allow an upgrade until one month before the end of the current term... Which to be fair is totally fair... I wish I could get a new iPhone now :(
