Dave Haynie - Where is he now?
« on: June 03, 2009, 03:04:47 AM »
Well,

Watching Deathbed Vigil and Interview with this living legend in AMIGA was wondering what he is up to now.
I know he does grace AMIGA.org now and then but haven't heard anything from him in ages.

Anyone know?
It's not the question, that is the problem, it is the problem, that is the question.

Wikipedia says he's now working for a company that build radio controlled industrial robots.  Apparently he's responsible for the controller for the "Bombot" and other robots made for industrial/military purposes.

Dave's bio is at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Haynie

Kind of surprising given how he mentioned in an interview that he was happy to leave GE behind in his early years, partly because of their military stuff.

Just talked to him on Facebook and he reiterated what you'd heard above.  Working on R/C and bombbots.

I think those bomb robots sense bombs and remove them...  they are "control bomb-hunting robots " as he mentions.  so really these bots save lives is how i look at it.

Agreed. He hasn't gone over to the dark side yet. That is a Jedi robe he is wearing in the picture after all ;).

I ran across Michael Sinz's home page a little while ago. The Force is strong with him too. He has his Amiga programs online...
