« on: February 01, 2009, 11:10:07 PM »
Fabien "Fab" Coeurjoly has successfully ported the Origyn Web Browser to MorphOS after about three weeks of work. This web browser is based on the powerful WebKit engine which is also used by Apple's Safari or Google's Chrome.

The highlights of Fabien's implementation are as follows:

    * Based on GaleKid 1.0 OWB Branch (December 2008)
    * Javascript, CSS, DOM, SVG, Unicode, SSL, ...
    * Antialiased fonts and kerning, font families and support for international charsets
    * MUI Interface
    * Cairo technology !!1
    * Multiple tabs and windows
    * Download manager
    * Bookmarks
    * Fastlinks
    * Context menus
    * Copy/Cut/Paste
    * Rexx port (openurl support)
    * No paypal donation needed

Tested and working OK under Morphos 1.4.5 on an Amiga 1200. Now, we have 2 modern web browsers to choose from. :-D

Works fine, excellent port! Actually we have three ;) Or maybe NetSurf doesn't work on 1.4.5 on classic?

No, it requires MOS 2.x. But without DOM or even JavaScript support, it lacks basic features that every modern browser must have. CSS isn't a synonym for modern.

DOM is a psychedelic hallucinogenic drug and a substituted amphetamine of the phenethylamine class of compounds, sometimes used as an entheogen. DOM was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin. The full name of the chemical is 2,5-dimethoxy-4-methylamphetamine. DOM has a stereocenter and R-(-)-DOM is the more active stereoisomer.

Don't think I want that in my browser.  :crazy:
