SoundStudio needs a new developer
« on: November 11, 2008, 12:55:27 PM »
The famous tracker Soundstudio needs a new developer. This is the final chance to get a new version of this great tracker, if it doesn't work out the project will sadly be terminated.

Read more about it here.

It's things like this that make me wish I could program, I suppose it's a bit of an optimistic first project eh?

As a regular user of OctaMed SS, I have plenty of suggestions for features I'd like to see implemented, so I guess I can help out in that way...

I take it Gerd gave up on it as well.

What a travesty. This programme is the reason I bought an amiga, the reason I started writing music and the reason I'm now in a band.

Someone please keep the old girl alive.........

Looks like it's about time this programme was the reason you started programming Wilse.

Wow, that's a bit drastic. I'm not sure this kind of blackmailing is going to attract more developers.
Theology is just a debate over who to frame for creating reality.

But seriously, is this a realistic thing for a person like myself to look in to doing?

I've a bit of basic programming in C, loads of prgramming in Basic on the speccy when I was about 8 or so, and I'm a quick learner... Can it hurt to chance my arm?

The first thing to add is AHI support. It may or may not be a problem. I'd say if you have not done any larger scale programming it might be a bit of too much to chew. What I am hoping is to see maybe a group of two working on it together. I was kinda hoping Xeron would step up as he has proven to be quite a wizard with audiosoftware ;-)

Add AHI support before an undo history?

I'm not so sure about that...
