AmigaOS 4.1 Beta for Sam440ep available

ACube Systems Srl is pleased to announce the immediate availability of AmigaOS 4.1 Beta (developed by Hyperion Entertainment VOF) for Sam440ep.

The package, including a pressed CD and a printed Quickstart Guide, will start shipping on Monday 20 October, 2008. All our customers should receive AmigaOS 4.1 Beta for Sam440ep in the following days.

Do you have to pay for the beta software?  Or is it bundled with the SAM440 board ?

As stated on other board the reason the os is still Beta is simply because it has not had as much testing as os4.1 for Amiga One and the publishers are in a hurry to release :-D It was also said that it runs with no probs so this can't be a bad move if you own or intend to buy  Sam motherboard. When Beta testing is completed each person who purchased the os will receive the finished product free of charge hope I,ve got this right if not I,m sure someone will correct me. ;-)

Anyone found the announcement on Amiga.com yet?

Guess the truly good news, Eyetech isn't botching this one up with a buggy mobo.  I would deal with ACube long before I would deal with Alan.

If AOS5 isn't going to be based at all on AOS4 (and assuming it is actually not AA2 even though McEwen did actually say it was) then maybe AI is going to ignore the whole AOS4 situation and release a (non AA2) AOS5 and aren't going to concern themselves anymore with what Hyperion is doing.

Unless you know of current mediation status, I'd say with the long court battle, your wrong on AI's "intent"  :-D

Yes, that is also my understanding of the situation from the original news article.  However, the finished product might be in the form of a downloadable iso image.
