New Alien Breed game (Wot? No Brimble?)
« on: October 15, 2008, 02:50:09 AM »
Team17 has confirmed that an Alien Breed remake will release next year. We have heard rumours that Team17 may not be using Allister Brimble for the audio.

It would be crime not to have Allister Brimble as the musician, who as the composer of the original Alien Breed game, is responsible the incredible atmosphere of the earlier title which led to much of its appeal. If you think this is wrong, please email Team17 and help their new title get the quality it deserves. http://www.team17.com/contact.html

I agree, the game wont be anything like alien breed anyway, it will just be another lame fps...

So even in the extreemely small case of Alister doing the music it wont make a difference...

I'll be interested when there will be a public native playable preview for AmigaOS...

Perhaps someone wanted to see if making "crisis" could change anything (there might be more to this story perhaps. i wonder ;-) )

No doubt the new game will suck yes, but since they are using the original name (to market it), they should definitely think about using some of the original guys perhaps.

At least it isn't another version of worms .. please no more worms.

To make the game a success team 17 will surely be targeting the Amiga first. They want to sell as many copies as some of their recent games, and 5-6 sales to the Amiga community would definitely ensure this! ;-)

IIRC it is NOT going to be an FPS.

I like the top down style so if it is that it would be great. 4 player gauntlet is also still fun to play :)

Who besides hardcore Amiga users remembers Alien Breed?

I dont think its a crisis.

PC already has an Alien Breed Remake : Alien Breed Obliteration, full level editor included !

jesterpunk, the programmer once stated that he will release the code, but he has not been online for a while. If anyone can track him down, we could have our own ALIEN Breed :)

Which makes sense, considering it was Bjørn Lynne who wrote the music for Alien Breed 3D, not Allister Brimble...

@ asymetrix

THis would be a massive project, as it uses direct x, unless someone has ported direct x to the amiga and not told anyone  :-)

I preferred Alien Syndrome. And the Wii remake is amusing.
