P2AM -- PS/2 mouse for your 16-bit Atari/Amiga

Dear Amiga users,

we have some nice stuff for your beloved machines. We've got tired by fixing old Atari/Amiga mices, "spamming" recent Atari/Amiga dealers / hardware makers if they really are out of stock with Atari/Amiga mices and/or converters for connecting some recent (PS/2, USB) ones.

Fortunately (for you ;) we have made a decision to produce own batch of hardware. What is this all about? Yes, we're going to produce completely new batch of PS/2 adapters for every Atari/Amiga 16-bit computer! You can use any PS/2 mouse and connect it to your Atari/Amiga. No need for soldering or changing the original case -- everything fits into nice little box connected by thin cable directly to your mouse port.

In case you already owns our previous piece of hardware -- SatanDisk -- you're aware of the fact we mean it seriously, you can count on quality, good support and communication and mainly -- damn fair prize! One PS/2 converter (we call it P2AM -- as PS/2 to Atari/Amiga Mouse) will cost you only 15 Euros! Compare that prize to PeST or any other PS/2 converter...

And finally, you can ofcourse buy (nearly) any of that fancy USB->PS/2 converters and connect USB mouse to your Atari/Amiga in this way!

Since the SatanDisk production we gained also a lot of experiences and got quite a feedback from you, users,  we've completely remade our "business websystem", you're going to be damn surprised how friendly and professional looking is now ;)

One last note: there wont be pre-order phase. So please take a very good look, when is the deadline for payment shipping. After this date we can't guarantee you will be able to buy anything. And of course, please, tell all your Atari/Amiga friends about this, you wouldn't believe how very late we received some requests for SatanDisk availability... be careful this time! ;)

hehe, its correct on the website "The device works with all Atari 16/32-bit computers"

That said, the 68000 was always sold as 16bit, accurate or not.

I cant see it saying anywhere that it supports the mouse wheel or extra buttons, is it just a two/three button mouse adaptor?
Also those "fancy USB-PS/2 converters" need a mouse that supports PS2 internally as the adaptor is just wiring a USB connector to a PS2 connector. I dont know of an active USB to PS2 converter.
If I was to buy one of these over the many new/Old Stock Amiga mice selling for £10 then it would need mouse wheel support, like the Elbox unit.. but cheaper. :)

I hope they make this convertor on a flexible cable which attaches to the mouse port, rather than as a rectangular box that sticks directly out of the port.

Combine one of those boxes with the connector from the mouse and you have about 4 to 5 inches of crap hanging off your mouse port, stressing it and ripping the solder points out of the motherboard.

I can vouch for these guys - I bought the Satandisk SD memory card HDD emulator for my ST and I'm very satisfied with build quality and communication throughout the process.

(I have admittedly still not managed to make Satandisk work, but this is my fault as I have no HDD drivers...)

The 68000 is 16bit because it has a 16bit databus. On pre-AGA amigas the chipset had a 16bit databus. I'd call all pre-AGA amigas 16-bit.

I guess the A3000 had some 32bit busses, but the chipset was still 16bit.

Chain: a little bit more decency wouldn't hurt. i assure you and all possible other people who are interested in our project -- our goal is to provide a solution for people who aren't able to build it by themselves. nothing more, nothing less. our "profit" (it's really even crazy to call it like that) is absolute minimum, just for fun -- try to produce something like this on your own. i'd be very interested in the final sum.

about ripping some others work -- this isn't true. at first, we certainly didn't use mentioned works (both "DIY" and yours url). To prove that, we're going to publish original PCBs and sources which are (c) but someone completely else. And yes, we contacted him and he has nothing against our work.

Now I see that deep difference between our scenes... I'm begin to think, it was hard mistake to offer such product to Amiga scene, this is nothing but crap and you people probably deserve nothing more than competing in your frog wars... i know, now i'm generalizing but i have never seen such arrogant behavior from atari people... everyone is thankful we're doing something to support our beloved machines.. but you guys...:/

"we contacted him and he has nothing against our work"

thats good, now i dont have nothing against it, maybe just mention of original author will be really better. Something like "Based on atariamiga@free.fr design", ot whatever...
Your minimal profit ort what you call it is another story.... you probably deserve it for that ugly looking device

dont forget to force PIC output as it will not work on escom amigas and you will be damned from your beloved customers

PM sent

Ahh its based on one of the open source ones.
http://atariamiga.free.fr/sourisps2.php
I agree that should be made more clear but its good to have these availble.
I see you have code for a mouse wheel, I didnt think any of the open source ones supported mice wheels without using both mouse/joystick connections.

Nope, it's similar but neither this one. When I came back home, I will make corrections to our web to (let's hope) everyone's satisfaction.

about that's mouse wheel: i have to test it, on atari we have support for it on some (even opensource) solutions, too but of course it's based on different approach.
